Why Daikin Dominates Singapore Homes
Daikin is the most popular aircon brand in Singapore. As a Japanese manufacturer with decades of experience in tropical climate engineering, Daikin has built a reputation for reliability, energy efficiency, and quiet operation. Walk through any HDB corridor or condo development in Singapore, and you will see Daikin condensers mounted on walls and ledges everywhere. From single-split bedroom units to large commercial VRV systems, Daikin dominates the Singapore market.
Billy Aircon is a fully licensed aircon servicing company in Singapore with a 26-person team and over 20 years of experience since 2003. We handle more Daikin aircon servicing and repair jobs than any other brand. Our technicians work on Daikin aircons daily across HDB flats in Bedok and Tampines, condos in Jurong, and landed homes in Ang Mo Kio - which means they understand the engineering, know the common failure points, and can diagnose issues quickly. Whether you have a basic Daikin wall-mounted unit in your BTO flat or a premium iSmile system in your landed property, we have the tools and training to keep it running at peak performance.
Daikin’s transition to R32 refrigerant across its product line also requires technicians who understand the specific handling requirements of this newer, more environmentally friendly gas. Our team is fully certified to work with both R32 and the older R410A refrigerant found in legacy Daikin systems.
Every Daikin Model, Serviced and Repaired
We service every Daikin aircon model sold in Singapore, including discontinued units. Here is a breakdown of the most common Daikin systems we work on.
Daikin iSmile Series
The iSmile series is Daikin’s flagship residential line in Singapore, carrying a NEA 5-tick energy rating for maximum efficiency. These units feature the Coanda airflow effect, which directs cool air along the ceiling before it drops evenly throughout the room. The iSmile also includes Daikin’s Intelligent Eye sensor that detects when a room is unoccupied and adjusts operation to save energy. During servicing, we pay special attention to the Coanda flap mechanism and the sensor unit, as dust buildup on these components can reduce their effectiveness.
Daikin MKS Multi-Split Systems
The MKS multi-split system connects multiple indoor units to a single outdoor compressor. This is a popular choice for Singapore condos and apartments where outdoor space for condensers is limited. Multi-split systems require careful servicing because a problem with the outdoor unit affects every room. We check refrigerant distribution across all indoor units, inspect the multi-port valve, and verify that each indoor unit receives equal cooling capacity.

Daikin FTKU Wall-Mounted Units
The FTKU series is Daikin’s standard wall-mounted split system. These units are workhorses found in thousands of Singapore homes and offices. They use Daikin’s inverter compressor technology to maintain consistent temperatures while consuming less electricity. Servicing these units involves cleaning the evaporator coil, checking the fan blower balance, flushing the drain line, and verifying inverter board operation.
Daikin Ceiling Cassette Systems
Ceiling cassettes are common in commercial spaces, offices, and larger residential properties in Singapore. These units sit flush with the ceiling and distribute air in four directions for even coverage. Servicing ceiling cassettes requires more time and care because the unit must be accessed from above or partially lowered for thorough cleaning. We use chemical wash solutions specifically formulated for the larger coils found in cassette units.
Common Aircon Problems We Fix
Singapore’s high humidity and year-round heat put immense strain on aircon systems. Here are the problems we see most frequently with Daikin units.
Water Leaking from Indoor Unit
This is the single most common Daikin service call we receive. In Singapore’s humid conditions, the evaporator coil produces large volumes of condensation. When the drain pan overflows or the drain pipe becomes blocked with slime and algae, water drips from the indoor unit. We clear the drainage system, flush it with anti-bacterial solution, and check that the drain pan is properly aligned. For persistent leaks, we inspect the drain pump if one is installed.
Daikin Aircon Not Cold
When your Daikin aircon is not blowing cold air, there are several possible causes. Dirty evaporator coils restrict heat exchange, reducing cooling capacity. Low refrigerant gas due to a leak in the copper piping means the system cannot absorb enough heat. A faulty inverter board may prevent the compressor from reaching full speed. Our technicians use a systematic diagnostic approach to identify the exact cause before recommending repairs.
Daikin Error Codes
Daikin units display error codes on the indoor unit’s LED panel or via the wireless remote. Common codes we see include U0 (low refrigerant or gas leak), U4 (communication error between indoor and outdoor units), E7 (fan motor malfunction), and A3 (drain level high). When you call us with a Daikin error code, our technicians can often narrow down the issue before arriving, which means we bring the right parts and tools to resolve it in a single visit.
Noisy Operation
Daikin aircons are engineered for quiet operation, so unusual noise often indicates a problem. A rattling sound from the indoor unit may signal a loose fan blower or debris trapped inside the unit. Grinding from the outdoor compressor can indicate worn bearings. Clicking sounds during startup or shutdown are often related to the expansion and contraction of plastic components and are usually normal, but persistent clicking may point to a relay issue on the control board.

Daikin Inverter Compressor Problems
Daikin’s inverter technology uses variable-speed compressors that adjust power consumption based on cooling demand. While this saves electricity, inverter compressors are more complex than non-inverter models. Issues with the inverter board, capacitors, or the compressor motor itself require specialised diagnostic equipment. Our technicians carry inverter-specific testing tools and can diagnose whether the issue lies with the electronic control board or the compressor motor.
Trusted by Thousands Across Singapore
Billy Aircon has serviced Daikin aircon units across Singapore since 2003. Billy Aircon’s technicians complete regular training on Daikin systems, including the latest iSmile and multi-split configurations. We maintain a stock of common Daikin replacement parts, including fan motors, thermistors, drain pumps, PCB boards, and capacitors. This means most repairs are completed on the first visit without the need for a follow-up appointment.
We service Daikin aircons in all types of Singapore properties - HDB flats in Toa Payoh and Woodlands, condos in Punggol and Sengkang, landed homes, offices, and commercial spaces. We understand the installation variations across different property types and can handle the access challenges that come with ceiling-mounted units, bulkhead-concealed piping, and tightly packed condenser ledges common in newer condo developments.
Our technicians also understand the interaction between Daikin aircons and Singapore’s electrical supply. Voltage fluctuations, especially in older HDB estates, can affect inverter board reliability. We check the supply voltage as part of our diagnostic process and can advise on surge protection if your area is prone to power instability.

Daikin Servicing Rates and Packages
We offer a full range of servicing options for Daikin aircon units at competitive prices.
Standard Servicing - from $16 per unit (10+ units) (2026 Pricing)
Our standard servicing covers filter cleaning, evaporator coil cleaning, drain pan flushing, condensate drain clearing, and a general inspection of the indoor and outdoor units. This is recommended every 3 months for homes and every 2 months for commercial units in Singapore. Standard servicing keeps your Daikin running efficiently and prevents the buildup of mould and bacteria that thrives in our humid climate.
For details on our full servicing price list, visit our pricing page.
Chemical Wash - $80 to $100 per Unit
A chemical wash is recommended when standard servicing is not enough to restore cooling performance. This deep cleaning process uses chemical solutions to dissolve stubborn grime, mould, and bacteria from the evaporator coil and fan blower. For Daikin units that have not been serviced in over 6 months, a chemical wash can significantly improve airflow and cooling power. For severely neglected units, we also offer a full chemical overhaul ($130 to $180 per unit) that involves complete dismantling of the indoor unit for thorough cleaning of every component.
Gas Top-Up - From $80
If your Daikin aircon is low on refrigerant gas, we provide top-up services for both R32 and R410A systems. We always check for leaks before topping up, because adding gas to a leaking system is a temporary fix that wastes money. If a leak is detected, we will locate it and provide a repair quote before proceeding.
Repair and Parts Replacement
We stock common Daikin parts and can source less common components directly from Daikin Singapore. Typical aircon repairs include fan motor replacement, thermistor replacement, PCB board repair or replacement, capacitor replacement, and compressor relay replacement. If your existing Daikin unit is beyond repair, we also provide aircon installation services for replacement units. All repairs come with a 90-day warranty on parts and labour (2026 rates).
