HDB Flat Installation
HDB flats are the most common property type we install aircon systems in. Whether you are moving into a new BTO flat and need a complete system or replacing an ageing system in a resale flat, we handle the full process.
New HDB BTO flats - For brand new flats, we work with your renovation contractor to coordinate aircon installation timing. Piping is ideally run before ceiling and wall finishes are completed, allowing us to conceal pipes within the ceiling or behind cornices for a clean look. We advise on unit placement during the planning stage to avoid conflicts with other renovation works.
Resale HDB flats - For resale flats, we assess the existing piping and electrical setup. If the previous aircon system was a similar capacity, we can often reuse existing pipe routes and conduit, reducing installation time and cost. If the existing piping is damaged or incompatible, we install new piping with proper trunking.
HDB considerations:
- Outdoor condensers must be mounted at HDB-approved locations, typically on brackets below the window or at the designated aircon ledge

Condenser placement - Many condos have designated condenser yards or AC ledges. If your condo has a centralised condenser area, piping runs may be longer, which we account for in our quotation and system sizing.

Multi-storey piping - For two and three-storey landed homes, piping routes need careful planning. Longer pipe runs require proper insulation and may need additional refrigerant charge. We plan the most efficient routes to minimise pipe length while keeping the installation tidy.

How We Install Your New Aircon System
Step 1 - Free Site Assessment
We visit your property to assess the installation requirements. This includes measuring room dimensions, identifying optimal indoor and outdoor unit positions, planning pipe routes, checking electrical capacity, and noting any access constraints. For HDB and condo installations, we check the approved condenser locations and drainage points.
Step 2 - Quotation and System Recommendation
Based on the site assessment, we provide a detailed quotation covering equipment costs, installation charges, and any additional electrical work needed. We recommend unit capacities based on room size, sun exposure, and insulation - not guesswork. Oversized units waste energy and cycle too frequently, while undersized units run constantly without adequately cooling the space.
Step 3 - Scheduling and Coordination
We schedule the installation at a time convenient for you and coordinate with your renovation contractor if applicable. For BTO renovations, timing is critical to ensure pipes are run before ceilings are closed up.
Step 4 - Installation Day
Our installation team arrives with all equipment and materials. The process typically involves mounting the indoor unit brackets, running refrigerant piping and drainage, mounting the outdoor condenser, connecting electrical wiring, vacuum pumping the system to remove moisture and air, charging with the correct refrigerant amount, and installing trunking to conceal piping where applicable.
Step 5 - Testing and Handover
Every unit is tested for at least 15 minutes to verify cooling performance, check for refrigerant leaks, confirm proper drainage, and ensure quiet operation. We walk you through the remote control functions and provide maintenance advice. We also schedule your first aircon servicing appointment to keep your new system running at peak efficiency.
How Do I Pay for Installation?
Important (2026): Billy Aircon accepts cash payment only for installation jobs. This includes new installations and system replacements. Please prepare cash payment for the agreed quotation amount upon completion of the installation. We provide a receipt and warranty documentation for all installation work.
For regular servicing and repair work, we accept PayNow and bank transfer in addition to cash.
